What permissions does Thockly need?
A low-level keyboard hook (virtual key codes only), mouse/trackpad hooks for click and scroll sounds, and audio output. Optional “start with Windows” adds a startup entry. Internet is not required for everyday typing sounds.
Does Thockly record what I type?
No. Thockly detects which key was pressed to play the matching sound. No text content is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Does it work on Mac or Linux?
No. Thockly is a native Windows 10/11 application. This website’s demos run in your browser on any OS, but the full system-wide app is Windows only.
Will it work with my headphones?
Yes. Sounds play through your default audio device — headphones, speakers, or Bluetooth.
Does it work in games?
Yes. Thockly runs system-wide, including in games. You can toggle it on or off at any time.
How do I uninstall?
Go to Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Thockly, and click Uninstall.
Can I use multiple profiles?
Yes. Switch between 12 keyboard profiles and 6 mouse profiles from the dashboard or system tray.
